the political condition of public art

LLLL ART AGENCY
CONVERSATIONS AS STRUCTURAL BASIS
FROZEN HEAT SATELLITE ART SERIES | LAPIEZA

ØYVIND BRANDTSEGG | 11.11.11 – GRENSEN SINSAKER
RESEARCH AS ART

Øyvind Brandtsegg is an artist. He lives in a cozy old house by the university campus. He invited us for coffee and chocolate, and we talked for two hours by the fire, about art and the political condition of public art. Øyvind is a sound artist. Øyvind generates site installations where sound becomes an added presence that transform our sense of space. Øyvind is also professor at the NTNU, where he teaches sound theory. We were amazed to have the chance to see (and hear) his new spatial performance, a minimal-cyborg-action, where Øyvind moves his gun-microphones around the place.

This conversation is part of the STRUCTURAL BASIS of FROZEN HEAT,
ONLINE ARTSHOWS (2014-2015) upcoming art series curated by LLLL
as satellites of LAPIEZA ART SERIES.

Øyvind will be at the Trondheim Dokkhuset event next week.
